WRITE A BLOG POST AND HELP NEW ORLEANS!
As part of our continued effort to raise awareness of the needs of those still living in New Orleans, as well as those in need in the greater World around us, we are asking you to take a little bit of your time, and write a post on your personal blog letting everybody know what the concept of “Healing Time” means to you.
We understand the very personal experience of blogging, and hope that your entry reflects your own personal writing or multimedia style. Make it meaningful to you and your readers, and it will mean all the more to us. Be as broad or as specific about what the concept of “Healing Time” means to you, your relationships, work, your family, your community, or the World in general.
IT’S EASY TO PARTICIPATE — DON’T BE SHY!
At the bottom of this post, you’ll find a YouTube video of Josh singing Healing Time, contest rules and a submission form. Between October 15 and November 1, 2009 write a post pertaining to Healing Time, of any length, on your own personal blog. Submit your entry to us, and we’ll judge your post.
If you do not have a personal blog, what better reason to start sharing your unique thoughts and personality with others! There are a variety of places to obtain a free blog, including Blogger, WordPress, Live Journal, Thoughts, Blog, and many others. Simply fill out their online form, pick a theme and get started!
As we receive entries, we will ensure they meet our requirements (see rules) then post a link to your submission on this website. We will also share the link at a variety of social media sites, including Twitter and FaceBook. Be prepared for a number of individuals reading your post!
The top 10 submissions will be contacted, and we’ll do a runoff to see which posts to read aloud live in December, as part of Josh Charles’ live performance streamed over the Internet to further raise funds for those in need. We are also offering a prize, to be announced!

A healing song! My husband took his life 5 years ago this April in our home and I recently lost that home after struggling to make the mortgage payment alone. I was laid off from my job in January too after 20+ years in the industry. It is tough but I know I am not alone in these times. Healing time…Time heals…well it makes pain fade. Makes you look toward future. I remarried as of March 2009. I will never forget my former husband, Michael. I will never forget the times we shared.I will always remember our home. In the earlier days and months following his suicide, I NEVER thought I would get through. Time makes the difference. I don’t need to win this contest.
