As part of our effort to raise awareness of the needs of those still living in New Orleans, as well as those in need in the greater World around us, we are asking those of you, professional or amateur, persons or bands, to cover the song Healing Time in your own unique fashion. LET US HEAR YOUR OWN UNIQUE STYLE!

Whether jazzy, bluesy, country, hip hop, rock and roll or even reggae, we’d like to see and hear your rendition.  What does Healing Time mean to you?  How would you use the song Healing Time to express your shared desire to heal the World?

IT’S EASY TO PARTICIPATE — DON’T BE SHY!

At the bottom of this post, you’ll find a YouTube video of Josh singing Healing Time, a version of the song without vocals (karaoke style,) official chord sheet and lyrics sheet links, rules and a submission form. Between October 5 and November 1, 2009 record one of the following:

  • a video of yourself singing along with the karaoke version (or)
  • a video of yourself singing with your own musical instrument accompaniment (or)
  • a video of you and your band playing Healing Time

Afterwards, upload the video to YouTube.  Submit your entry to us, and we’ll judge your video.

You do NOT have to play an instrument to compete in this contest! Accappela singing (without instruments) is also encouraged. We have made a karaoke version available for you to sing to!

The top 10 submissions will be contacted, and we’ll do a runoff to see which videos to play for everyone live in December, as  part of Josh Charles’ live performance streamed over the Internet to further raise funds for those in need.

Click on the buttons above to read the rules, lyrics, and get a chord sheet.  Record your video and upload it to YouTube.  After you have uploaded your video to YouTube, submit your video to use by using the SUBMIT button above. You’ll then fill out a simple form to finish the process.
